DAY FIVE

This was a good day for carving. For the first time some part of the sculpture has approached its final size. The nose and Christ's face on his right side are very close to being finished. This is important to establish early because from now on visual measurements will all come from the finished parts.

The terra cotta model fell and broke. When I said "Let the chips fall where they may", I was referring to marble chips.

I reassembled the fragments and was able to try some different angles and tilts for the heads.
