the virgin enters our world...so then christ remains in the stone...and therefore is a symbolic representation of the spirit on earth...... that's the whole thing...and our crux in life is to represent what cannot be seen only felt........i truly feel we're trapped in the intellect... ...we're only half-way to what is real......that is the beauty of religious art...it brings us so close to the actuality of our soul enveloped by the trappings of the world......does this make sense?
