DAY TWENTY-SEVEN

Undercutting on the very reflective white marble creates shadows. These shadows define the form. It is like drawing on the stone. One must recall what plaster life casts look like, although they may be naturalistically accurate, they do not present a clear statement of sculptural form, they mostly are just white. Sculpting is not just making an accurate replication of nature, there is much more artifice and invention involved.
